If you were at the Nakiska Security Village in Kananaskis during the G8 Summit Conference...you may have dropped by the CAMP STORE located in the main lodge. I was fortunate enough to have spent 9 days in the village showing my art and researching the subject matter for this commemorative print. Perhaps we met?

As you are aware, the Nakiska Security Camp was home to an enormous security force of 2,100 members of the RCMP and an estimated 4,000 Canadian troops. During the event I couldn't help but think that I was in the safest place in the whole world....thanks to you! The Kananaskis G8 Summit Conference was clearly the most successful and efficient security model in G8 history.

As the artist in residence, I feel that I was able to capture the mood of the event. The print features and underlying red cast which accents the air of urgency and seriousness. The composition's focus is on the silver-tip grizzly bear looking south into the Kananaskis Valley. Featured is an RCMP Long Ranger helicopter, a Royal Canadian Artillery ADATS missile system, the Lord Strathcona's Horse (RC) Coyote reconnaissance vehicles and a couple flights of CH-147 Griffin helicopters.

The actual size of the print is 24" x 20" with the title and badges of the RCMP, Canadian Forces and the Calgary Police Service on the bottom margin....along with the signatures of Chief Superintendent Lloyd L. Hickman, Officer in Charge (RCMP), Deputy Chief Rick Hanson of the Calgary Police Service and Brigadier General Ivan Fenton, OMM, CD, Commander of Land Forces Western Area.

 These prints are modestly priced and available to those simply wish to have a souvenir of the event. Serving or retired members of the RCMP, Canadian Forces, Calgary Police Service, Solicitor General's Department as well as civilian employees who were part of this operation are entitled to a 1/3 discount. This is referred to as the Members Price - $50.00 (plus shipping, handling and taxes).

INVESTOR SERIES - LIMITED EDITION AND ARTISTS PROOFS

The retail price of the signed, LIMITED EDITION PRINT is $225.00. Serving or retired members of the RCMP, Canadian Forces, Calgary Police Service, Solicitor General's Department as well as civilian employees who were part of this operation are entitled to a 1/3 discount or Members Price - $150.00 (plus shipping, handling and taxes). Each print is accompanied by a numbered Limited Edition G8 Collector's Pin.

If you wish to purchase an ARTIST'S PROOF, the edition size is limited to 202. These are signed not only by the artist, but as well, hand signed by C/Supt. Hickman of the RCMP, Deputy Chief Hanson of the Calgary Police Service and BGen Fenton, Commander of Land Forces Western Area. Again, serving or retired members of the RCMP, Canadian Forces, Calgary Police Service, Solicitor General's Department as well as civilian employees who were part of this operation are entitled to a 1/3 discount or Members Price - $200.00 (plus shipping, handling and taxes). Each print is accompanied by a numbered Limited Edition G8 Collector's Pin. The normal retail price is $300.00.
